The ANIMA project is intended to empower airport operators to better address noise impacts and thereby enhance the quality of life of residents living near airports. The project has revealed considerable variation in noise management experience and capability across European airports and seeks to ‘level up’ performance through providing support to airports as they respond to the challenge of noise management.

Through this event, engagement with airports representing a range of different sizes and experience was fostered through knowledge transfer. Several case studies were presented from various countries, such as the Netherlands, France, Germany, Romania, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine. The Noise Platform, which is the ANIMA landmark deliverable, was showcased, allowing airports to discuss how best to exploit the best practice included on this platform and how to improve noise management in their unique context. Such discussions supported peer-to-peer learning and the development of airport networks to facilitate the exchange of effective practice and experience.
