ANIMA partners exchange ideas at study visit in the UK

May 15, 2018

At the initiative of Manchester Metropolitan University, two ANIMA partners from Romania (COMOTI and Iasi Airport) attended a study visit to United Kingdom. There they met with the representatives of Heathrow Airport to discuss the airport’s approaches to noise management, specifically Land-Use Planning.

The trip also included a visit to a community location where aircraft approaching the North Runway could be observed, and the noise exposure experienced first-hand. This was a great opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the ANIMA partners and to facilitate knowledge exchange between London Heathrow and Iasi Airport.

As part of this trip, professor Paul Hooper of Manchester Met also provided a lecture on Land-Use Planning experiences in the UK.
