Please click "register" and select your way of participation. Once registered for the event, you will receive the connection link few days in advance. The event will also be recorded and shared with the attendees later on together with the speakers' presentations.
The live event will be hosted by the ANIMA communication partner, Airport Regions Council, and it will take place at its premises on Rue Montoyer 21, Brussels 1000, 1st floor conference room.
On this occasion, the ANIMA consortium will present the results generated by the project after over four year of activity. This will be a high-level public conference addressed to policymakers, airports, public administrations, local communities, researchers and the aerospace industry.
The event will be structured into four sessions:
Session 1: ANIMA ready to use tools – let us enjoy the long-hanging fruits, shall we? ANIMA delivered several tools that users can already explore. Local communities, airports, policymakers and manufacturers can better understand aviation noise, its impact on the quality of life and how to reduce it thanks to the Noise Management Toolset, the Dynamic Maps, the Virtual Community Tool and the AnimApp – all these being available on the ANIMA Noise Platform, a resourceful information hub that addresses the challenge of aviation noise impact management and mitigation from a holistic approach.
Session 2: Views from ANIMA stakeholders – throughout the years, ANIMA engaged with different stakeholders. We opened dialogue with local communities, exchanged with airports, engaged with policymakers, discussed with industry and learnt together with research and academia. Guess what? There is no universal solution, but ANIMA is based on a holistic approach and we aim to foster fair and transparent communication. We now want to hear back from our stakeholders, to measure the impact of the ANIMA results and make further progress towards solutions for better aviation noise impact management and mitigation.
Session 3: ANIMA key findings – besides developing tools, ANIMA also carried out a various number of studies, such as evaluations of previous noise management interventions and their role in improving quality of life, screening of social media discussions to capture aviation noise perception, a virtual reality tool to test the impact of new aviation procedures over local communities. The ANIMA partners will dive deeper into these studies and will explain the key findings.
Session 4: The future of aviation noise management – ANIMA might end this year, but the new approach for aviation noise management that the project developed should be further explored, consolidated and studied. New technologies and decision systems should be put in place to mitigate annoyance and reduce impact. Working collectively towards solutions should not stop here and some insights to what the future might bring could help us in defining policy and research goals.
Please note that the live ANIMA final event will take place in Brussels. Only attendees who are fully vaccinated, have a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours or a negative rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours, or recently recovered from Covid-19 will be allowed access to the event. Free testing at the venue will also be available, as well as social distancing, seated catering, etc. We assure you that all measures of security concerning Covid-19 will be taken into account and implemented.
If the Covid-19 situation regulations change and the Belgian Government will not permit the organisation of such event, the event will be moved to fully virtual. Please register to attend the event and we will keep you informed in case any updates arise.
